Privacy Policy

CloserTek ("we", "us") is Ismael Ruiz, doing business as CloserTek, in San Diego, California. We build and run websites and local online presence for contractors and home service businesses. This page explains what we collect, where it comes from, how we use it, who else handles it, and how to make us stop.
Where your information comes from
- Our forms on Facebook and Instagram. When you fill in a CloserTek lead form inside Facebook or Instagram, Meta sends us your answers. Meta's own privacy policy covers what Meta itself collects.
- Our website. You give us information when you use a form on closertek.com or book a call there.
- You. You also give us information when you text, email or call us, or talk with us on a call.
- Public information about your business. To build a demo of your site and check that we are a fit, we look up your business's public Google listing and what your business already has online, such as its name, address, phone number, hours, services, star rating and number of reviews.
What we collect
- From our Facebook and Instagram form: your name, phone number, email, business name, city and state, and your answers to the form's questions about your business, such as the kind of work you do, whether you own the business, how long you have been in business and whether you have a website now. If the form has a box for texts, we also get whether you ticked it. Meta also tells us when you sent the form, whether you sent it on Facebook or Instagram, and which of our ads and forms you came from.
- From the form on closertek.com: your name, your mobile number and whether you ticked the box to get texts from us.
- From our conversations: what you tell us by text, email or on a call, and the time of any call you book.
- If you become a client: what we need to run your service, such as access to your Google Business Profile, your domain and your photos. Your card details are held by our payment processor, not by us.
- Basic site logs: our web host keeps standard server logs, such as the pages visited, the browser type and the time of the visit.
How we use it
- We use it to answer the request you made, which means building a demo of your site, reaching you to set up a call, holding the call, and following up about that site.
- If you sign up, we use it to run the service you pay for and to bill you.
- We keep a record of what you agreed to and when, including any request to stop.
We do not use your form answers for anything else unless you agree to it separately, and we do not add you to any other list.
Calls and email
- If you send us a form, we may email you and call you about your request.
- Calls come from a person, never a recording or an autodialer. We call between 9am and 8pm in your local time, Monday through Saturday, unless you ask us to call at a different time.
- Every email from us tells you how to opt out. Reply "stop" or email ismael@closertek.com, and we act on it as soon as we see it, always within 10 business days.
Text messages (SMS)
- Only if you opt in. We text you only if you ticked the text box on our form or otherwise agreed in writing. If you leave the box unticked, we do not text you.
- What you agree to. Ticking the box means you agree CloserTek may send you recurring marketing text messages about your website request, such as call times, the link to your demo site and follow-ups, to the mobile number you gave us, from (619) 776-0935, including texts sent with automated technology.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. You never have to agree to texts to buy anything from us.
- Our first text confirms you signed up and tells you how to stop. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- We only send texts between 9am and 8pm in your local time, Monday through Saturday. We do not text on Sundays.
- Reply STOP at any time to stop the texts. You get one text confirming it, and no more texts after that. You can also tell us to stop in your own words, by text, email or phone, and we will.
- Reply HELP for help, or email ismael@closertek.com.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
Texts we send for our clients
When a client has us text their own customers, for example a review request after a job, we do it for that client. We only text customers who gave the client their number and agreed to hear from the business. Every text names the business and says how to stop, and we never use those numbers to market CloserTek.
Who else handles it
We share information only with the service providers we need to run CloserTek, and only so they can do that work for us:
- Meta, which runs our Facebook and Instagram forms
- the form service that forwards entries from the form on closertek.com to our email
- our texting provider and the phone carriers, to deliver texts
- our email providers, to send and receive email
- our scheduling provider, to book calls
- website hosting and database providers, to store records and host demo and client sites
- the software tools we use to build and check your demo site
- our payment processor, if you become a client
All of the above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent, which we never share with any third party.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your information, including your form answers, to anyone.
- We do not share your information with anyone for their own marketing.
Cookies, trackers and Do Not Track
- We do not put advertising trackers on closertek.com, such as a Meta pixel or ad cookies. Our web host keeps standard server logs.
- Some pages load parts from other services, such as web fonts, the video player and the booking calendar. Those services receive your browser's request and may set their own cookies under their own policies.
- We do not use closertek.com to follow you across other sites, and we do not let ad networks do it through our site. Because of that, a browser's Do Not Track signal does not change anything we do.
- If any of this changes, we will update this page before it does.
How long we keep it
- If you do not become a client, we delete your form answers and take down your demo site within 12 months of the last time we heard from you.
- We keep the record of your text consent for 5 years after our last message to you, so we can show what you agreed to. We keep any request to stop for as long as we operate, so we keep honoring it.
- If you become a client, we keep what we need while you are a client, and after that for as long as the law requires for billing and tax records.
Security
We keep lead and client information in password-protected accounts, with access limited to CloserTek and the service providers listed above.
Ages
Our ads, forms and service are for business owners 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Your choices
- To see, fix or delete what we hold about you, email ismael@closertek.com and we will take care of it.
- To stop texts, reply STOP. To stop emails, reply "stop" or email us. To stop calls, tell us on the call.
- To stop everything, say so on any channel and we stop all of it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change would let us use information we already hold in a new way, we will ask you first.
